A trip to the beach

A few weeks ago Jose and I got to be tourists at the beach. We meant to just walk around but it was such a nice day we ended up actually getting our 'feet' wet. The good news is that Macie loved the water! She didn't complain at all, until it was time to go. And it wasn't exactly warm water.

I think one of the funnier parts is that none of us were dressed for the beach, but I had an extra outfit for Macie in her diaper bag, so we just let her get wet in her onsie. I was in jeans and Jose had regular clothes on too. I was laughing while taking these pictures because we must've looked like we were from the great plains where people don't exactly know how to dress for the beach. It was worth it though for the memories.

Things that keep me humble

This year my husband (who teaches high school chemistry) has a blind student. He's told me a lot about her and I met her once while in DH's classroom (remember, we teach at the same high school).
She told me she has heard my voice before and I told her I'd say hi next time she walked by my classroom.
Yesterday I saw her while I was holding the door open for some of my students. I said "hi!" and she said hi and then asked me how my day was. I said great, and she said her day was going well. I said "That's great! See you later!".

Then I put my palm to my forehead and realized how inappropriate my comment was.

What We've Been Up Too

I started this post to put up a video, but it just takes forever. Even when the clip is short, is it supposed to take a long time? Pictures are super fast.... Weigh in if you can!

Anywho:
Macie has 7 teeth, has been starting to take steps (her current record is nine, but they're more frankenstein steps than walking).

And she's just overall being cute.

9 months

Our little one here is getting so mobile! It's so much fun, but it is difficult to get her to sit still for pictures. It makes it quite an adventure.

It's hard to believe how quickly these months have gone by. We're getting ready for Macie to have a cousin! If you didn't know, Jim and Stacy are due in early April. Logan James is on his way. Only 7 1/2 more weeks (or something like that!). We're getting excited and Macie is planning on showing him the ropes.

This morning

I couldn't stand how cute she was. Jose calls this her little menonite head band. She's just so much fun right now!

And this is what I get to wake up to most mornings. What a cutie!

What has Macie been up to?

So here are a few pictures. I tried to send some to GG and Papa last night but I got a mailer demon this morning saying that I put too much content in. I'm not having any luck with posting video though. Does anyone know why it takes so long to upload? Is a 2 minute clip too much for blogspot? It took over 3 hours last night and my camera battery died before it finished.

She's currently crawling and standing on her own, but no steps on her own.

Macie loves the blinds. Just to play with. She's got some next to her changing station.

Inspired

I just saw that another friend of mine had started a blog, and I thought about dustin' this old blog off again and giving it a shot.
The good news is that blogger is currently not blocked at work. If this was from home there would be no chance I'd update it. But if I have a minute during lunch or after work then I'm happy to update as possible. At home these days I'm rarely even on fac.ebook so I'm happy to see updates here!

Jose - 34 (birthday is on Wednesday! The big 35!)
Macie - 6 months (as of yesterday!)
It's just been amazing to see her grow and I can't say enough how much I'm enjoying being a mom.
I'll post more later, I'm just dipping my feet back in this blog world.
